This course is held with a maximum of 5 candidates per course. Candidates will be instructed on all aspects of weapons handling including:

  • Choosing calibre and bullet weights
  • Weapon handling
  • Marksmanship Principles
  • Shooting techniques – use of sticks – prone – sitting – kneeling – off bipods
  • Different ranges up to 100m (DMQ Standard)
  • Cleaning and maintenance regimes
  • Firearms law
  • Scope installation and zeroing
  • Terminal velocity

Using an approved firearms range facility and an ex-armed forces instructor this course is designed to ensure the candidate is able to improve all aspects of their firearms knowledge and technique to maximise accuracy in the field.

If you are about to take your DMQ L1 and have no FAC or experience this course is highly recommended.

Duration:  1 day

Outcome:  Candidates knowledge and performance is enhanced and their accuracy/technique is improved

Certification:  A certificate of attendance is issued to all candidates

Test:  Various practical assessments are carried out throughout the course to ensure knowledge is retained
